I have to admit that I'm torn after watching "2012". On the one hand, Emmerich delivers exactly what was promised: the end of the world with extra butter on top. At the same time, he completely derails and piles on the family cuteness, pretentious speeches, and violins to such a degree that the action feast often loses its momentum. - Nils Karlén
