Translated from swedish: What you get out of "Eat Pray Love" really depends on who you are as a person and your outlook on life. If you share the character Liz's brooding worldview and feel like the years are starting to slip away from you, I think the movie hits the mark. For us film buffs who crave good cinema, it becomes a bit harder to embrace something that still feels so lacking in finesse.

Translated from swedish: It's supposed to be about struggles and searching, but everything seems so easy and charming.

Translated from swedish: Beautiful, romantic settings with picturesque touches can't save the film from its pseudo-philosophical cliché swamp. The movie's New Age spirituality feels very American and detached.

Translated from swedish: A supposedly sensual drama that craves our serious attention but in return offers no more soul or originality than an average travel brochure, complete with its ethnocentric worldview.

Translated from swedish: A pure weekly magazine story, but a luxurious version with trips to exotic places. No matter how much I search my memory, I can't recall anything about the meaning of life, but I don't think that's a question for travel agents either.

3.3 / 10
Translated from swedish: It's often said that truth is stranger than fiction. That this isn't always the case is proven by the fact that the film "Eat Pray Love" is based on true events, yet still amounts to nothing more than a long, tedious journey toward a predictable, romantic... nothing.

Translated from swedish: It's probably mostly about a serious lack of edge. And that's Julia Roberts' fault, through no fault of her own. She's just too perfect for this movie. Too beautiful, too much charisma, too much confidence. It's hard to take her searching and sudden, unfulfilling crying fits seriously when everyone around her treats her like a princess wherever she goes.

Translated from swedish: It's cozy and comforting, but it's hard to feel sorry for Liz. By the end of the movie, you just want to shake her and tell her to take an enlightening trip to Afghanistan the next time she wants to do something "brave".

1. Moviezine
Translated from swedish: "Eat Pray Love" isn't just a movie – it's a journey. So depending on where you are in life, it'll either give you everything or nothing at all. For me, it's irritating, melancholy, and inspiring all at once – just like life itself.
