  • 1. Moviezine
    4 / 5

Translated from swedish: I laugh often and cry happens too. So far the film meets the requirements of what a good romantic drama should contain. However, when it comes to suspense, it's not exactly like I need to sit and worry about how things will turn out for Frances and the other characters. Even before the film begins, I can sense where it's going to end. For those who can overlook this, it's definitely a film worth watching and then some.

    6 / 10

Translated from swedish: One might have many intellectual objections to sentimentality and what many middle-aged men would dismissively call romantic drivel, but this is exceptionally beautiful and quite irresistible. Just lean back and let yourself be swept away.

Translated from swedish: In the book, Frances Mayes is happily married, but in the film she's on a consolation trip to Tuscany following a humiliating divorce when she decides to start a new life in the Italian countryside.
