Translated from swedish: It's a fascinating attempt to portray both the fact that we are all the sum of our ages, and also how one both can and has the right to live many different lives. Unexpectedly challenging even, the downside is that it's a bit too difficult to follow for the story to really grab hold of you.

Translated from swedish: The director and Yves Cape, along with the actors, visualize various relevant human themes such as exploitation, sexuality, adversity, parenthood, and both boundlessness and ethical and moral compasses, within a context that feels somewhat pretentious and isn't entirely easy to pull together into a cohesive drama. The difficulty for me was not only seeing the four personalities - Renée, Karine, Sandra and Kiki - as different sides of the same woman, but also that they aren't portrayed in linear chronological order.

Translated from swedish: "Orpheline" is, to put it mildly, pretentiously French in the extreme. Furthermore, it's fragmented to the point of being incomprehensible. You spend most of the movie waiting for some point to all this tragedy, and for a key that will make the pieces fit together, but when the key finally arrives it feels both forced and too late.

Translated from swedish: "Orpheline" tells a story so complex that it forces us in many ways to question whether it's actually a story at all. These are strange paths to take in making successful films, but it's at least clever and original.
